This Year's Chili Fly
Another Happy New Year for Atlanta Radio Control Club

It was a cold and windy but sunny day for the Chili Fly that is the traditional club kick-off of the new year. We had two different kinds of chili heating on the grill to keep us warm. The wonderful chili, potato chips, and beverages provided by members of the club and prepared by VP Tim held us over for a good, long time. While the crowd wasn't large, everybody had a good time. Kip Laurie, Ron Stancil, and others even put up some flights, although it was a challenge to fly with frozen fingers!

The Chili Fly was also the first official meeting of the year, but as mentioned before, it was a very thin crowd. We will be posting upcoming club events on the website. Be sure to mark the dates on your calendar and also spread the word to friends, family, and neighbors. You ,club  members, are the best way to let people know about the club and how they can get involved.

New Club Officers

Effective January 2010 the following members have taken office:

Rob Setili – President
Tim Neeland – Vice President
Mike O'Rourke – Safety Officer
Alex Mitchell – Treasurer / Web-Site

Joerg Wekenborg – Newsletter Editor

Please welcome the effort each officer puts into making our club tick like clockwork.
The best way to thank them is to frequently attend the meetings and provide your support. By giving input on issues you might encounter, or any problems you might have a solution for, you're contributing to the running of the club. Your participation is welcomed and valued!

A Word from the Editorskyshot

Since the beginning of 2010, I’ve taken over the Job of the Newsletter Editor from Les. Les did a great job keeping everybody posted on what's hot in and around the club. Even if they couldn't make it out to the meeting the newsletter kept everyone up to date. This is my way of pitching in since my work schedule barely allows for anything else that would require 100% presence. It is also the first time that I've done anything like this, and as most of you might know, English is not my native language.

What I want you to know, is that if there is anything that I can do better when creating this Newsletter, please feel free to contact me. Either out on the field or just use the contact option on the website to shoot me a short eMail. I am thankful for any input on how to create a newsletter that is informative, interesting, and maybe even entertaining to read.

Let me know.
– Joerg
